My name is Juan de Oliveira, I am a 27 year-old guitarist, composer and music teacher from Madrid, Spain.
From a young age, I attended Professional Conservatory in Madrid and studied classical music for eight years, getting a solid foundation of theory, harmony and history of music.
At the beginning of my career as a guitarist I was instructed by top tier Spanish musicians Miguel Gil and Tony “Waka” Martínez.
I am also a Popular Music Performance graduate at the BIMM University in Berlin, where I specialised in Guitar and was a student to musicians like Nick Morrison, Knox Chandler or Peter “Budgie” Clarke.
In 2017 I joined Spanish Pop-Rock band Andén 97 as a lead guitarist and recorded and released two studio albums and one EP. With over 300k streams, the band started getting certain recognition within the local scene until its separation in 2021 after performing in well known venues in Madrid, such as Galileo Galilei and Moby Dick.
In 2021 I moved to Berlin, where I have been based since, working for a variety of artists and bands as a session musician performing on stages such as Kesselhaus, Heimathafen Neukölln or Festsaal Kreuzberg and being a part of numerous productions.
You can also occasionally find me working as an assistant recording engineer at The Famous Gold Watch, a widely recognised recording studio within the independent music scene in Berlin.
Aside from my session work, I have composed music for some short film projects and I teach guitar and music theory.
